About:
I've always loved Zelda's designs but they're out of my current skill range.
When I saw her in Skyward Sword I knew that was where to start. I loved both her design and character in the game, and cosplaying her was a delight!
Like Link, I intend to cosplay all versions of her in time.
I am waiting to re-make the dress before having a photoshoot of it.

Construction:
The wig was by far the most difficult part of the costume, and I know I'm not the only cosplayer who has come across this problem.
I tried many different methods, but most of the time the front locks turned out too messy or thin, or they just wouldn't stay put.

In the end, after gathering ideas and tips from other cosplayers I ended up sewing rolled up foam into the hair to thicken it, while making sure it was still covered by hair. I then glued and wrapped the ribbons to the foam to complete it.

I also struggled a lot making the dress, as I made the mistake of choosing quite a stretchy fabric for the dress. While it meant it fit properly, I had many problems hemming it and in the end many parts of the dress turned out quite messy. I intend to re-make the dress soon out of a more suitable fabric. I also plan to make a harp to accompany the costume.

The first of the belts is made from foam, it's simply lots of circles put together and painted gold. The second belt was made from faux suede with the detail also being painted craft foam.

I made the sash which attaches to the belts from cotton drill with the crest painted on, and made it in such a way that it doubles as a pocket too, so I can keep my phone and other belongings on me without carrying a bag.

The sailcloth is made from white satin, with the crest sewn on using the same fabric as the sash.

The braclets and boots are re-used from other costumes and clothing.
