About:
I decided to make Toon Link's costume because I wanted to go back to something simple and work up from there. It doesn't get much simpler than this tunic!
I also thought a younger Link would better suit my face since I'm often told I have a young face.

For SunnyCon I decided only to make the costume, since I wouldn't be able to take props with me even if I made them. I made the shield later for a photoshoot and used my Ordon Sword as a stand in until I get round to making a sword from WW.

Construction:
I was able to re-use a number of things from other costumes for this. For example, the ears, wig and pants are all the same ones used for Twilight Princess Link. The boots are a pair I use for most costumes when I haven't had chance or am not able to make the actual boots for the costume.

The tunic and hat are both made from the same green polycotton fabrics and were put together within a day. This was the first costume where I attempted to make a pattern from measurments and it turned out great!

The undershirt is an old shirt I had lying around, I hand dyed it to use for this costume, but intend to re-make the shirt from scratch in the future.

The belt is made from suede and craft foam which I use for a lot of my costumes and enjoy working with.

The Wind Waker shield is made from a single piece of cardboard with a carboard handle. The details are hand painted in acrylic paint onto both sides of the shield.

The Ordon Sword was a gift from a friend and is made from wood.
